Catholic-Orthodox Similarities In Ecclesiology

  • Clergy
Names may differ, but both have similar orders of Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Monks and Nuns. All orders are set apart from the laity by their day-to-day clothing, and liturgical vestments.
  • Church Building
Churches are normally laid out the same with Narthex, Nave, and Altar.
Churches are richly adorned (the Orthodox say "illumined") with Christian artwork.
